Collins English Dictionary new edition added twitter on their entry. Twitter will be listed in the 30th anniversary edition to be published later this year.

The entry under noun will read: "a website where people can post short messages about their current activities" and under verb it will read: "to write short messages on the Twitter website".

Even words popular in e-mail shorthand and text messaging such as OMG (oh my God) and WTF (what the ****) also made the cut. To see more new words from New Edition of Collins English Dictionary, please visit www.time.com
